MAJOR LAND-BASED SMOLT CONTRACT

Major land-based smolt contract secured by AKVA group. AKVA group has announced the award of a new RAS contract with Cermaq Norway for the 12 million post-smolt facility at Sørøya in Finnmark.

The estimated contract value is minimum EUR 60 million. Engineering and design work will start immediately.

“This contract with Cermaq Norway represents for AKVA group the largest contract in Norway ever, and will support the activity level in our Land Based business for the next few years,” says CEO Knut Nesse.

Meanwhile, Stig Førre starts as COO for AKVA group´s international Sea Based division from 1 July.

“I can`t wait to join AKVA group and the global team. I find this role very interesting, with a unique possibility to continue developing both the company and the sustainable technology that brings the industry forward. AKVA group has interesting plans for the future,” says Stig Førre.

Førre has previously held the positions of CCO and VP of Business Development at Scale AQ, and has had several leading positions in the aquaculture industry the last 25 years. He is educated at Haugesund Maritime Høyskole, and is about to complete an Executive MBA at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) in June. He started his career in BioMar in 1995, before entering the technology industry in 2005. Førre will be a part of AKVA group’s management team.

“This is an exciting new employment for AKVA group. Førre has a unique experience in aquaculture. He knows both the industry and AKVA group. I am sure he will bring us a lot of valuable knowledge and drive going forward. I look forward to having him on the team,” says CEO Knut Nesse in AKVA group.

Førre will be traveling to Scotland, Turkey, Canada and Chile during his first month in AKVA group.

“I look forward to meet my new colleagues, the customers and together contribute to further growth,” says Førre.
