NEW APPOINTMENT AT AI-NATIVE AQUACULTURE

New appointment at AI-Native aquaculture start-up. Vertical Oceans, the world’s first AI-native, automated and fully sustainable aquaculture production and marketing start-up, is pleased to welcome Patrick Vizzone as its Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Born in Australia, and having resided in Greater China and Japan since 1993, Patrick joins John Diener (Founder and CEO) and Enzo Acerbi (Co-Founder and CTO) as part of the founding team. In his new role at Vertical Oceans, Patrick will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, strategy, and business development.

Patrick’s extensive experience in the agri-food sector, finance and investing, his operational roles in start-ups and his extensive boardroom and corporate governance experience, will be instrumental in driving Vertical Oceans’ mission to revolutionise aquaculture through its cutting-edge technology.

Vertical Oceans is elevating shrimp through its advanced vertical aquaculture system integrating 83 different technologies to build a perfect ecosystem for the world’s cleanest, freshest, and most sustainably produced shrimp. Working to disrupt the global $28 billion shrimp and prawn industry. The company was founded by John Diener, who used to be managing director of Gold Coin Aqua Group, a tropical marine aquaculture company focused on shrimp and tilapia nutrition and genetics. Diener teamed up with Enzo Acerbi, a computer and data scientist with a background in nutrition, genetics and microbiology, to help develop the technology required and Vertical Oceans, previously called Aqualogix, was born.
