New appointment for Barrus. Barrus is pleased to welcome Sam Thorpe to the role of Dealer Auditor and Boat Technical Support for the Marine Leisure Division.

Since completing a Marine Engineering course at Plymouth University, Sam has progressed through technical roles in the Marine industry at a mix of dealers and boat builders, most recently as Engineering Manager for RIB-X working with Mercury and Yanmar engines.

Sam will be working closely with the authorised network of Mariner and Mercury outboard engines and Quicksilver Boats dealers. Sam will ensure the dealerships have the full support they require from Barrus and the skills, knowledge and tools to deliver support to our loyal customer base.

“Having always worked closely with Barrus, I have attended a number of training courses and already have an interest in the products,” commented Sam on his appointment at Barrus.

“Barrus has a strong reputation in the Marine Industry and I am looking forward to starting my new role which will build on my technical skillset,” Sam concluded.

In his spare time, Sam likes to be out on the water as much as possible with his own, Mercury powered, boat. However, his keen interest in engineering extends to land, too as he is currently re-building his own Land Rover!

“We’re really pleased to have Sam on board,” commented Ben Allen, General Manager for the Marine Leisure Division, E. P. Barrus ltd.

“With Sam’s combination of industry and product knowledge, we’re confident that he will hit the ground running and have a positive impact on our existing dealer network.”
