Pavilion of Denmark covers the entire value chain at Aquasur 2026

A strong Danish presence will be on display at Aquasur 2026, 24 to 26 March 2026 Región de Los Lagos – Chile. where 26 companies will form the Pavilion of Denmark, showcasing technologies and solutions spanning the entire aquaculture value chain.

Organised by the Danish Export Association and co-financed by The Trade Council, the pavilion will provide a meeting point for suppliers, producers and partners looking to expand their presence in Chile and the wider South America aquaculture market.

South America continues to represent a growing opportunity for Danish and international suppliers to the aquaculture industry. As one of the region’s leading industry exhibitions, Aquasur provides an important platform for companies aiming to strengthen export activities and build new partnerships.

“We have brought Danish exhibitors to Chile and Aquasur for many years, and it’s always a great place to be. This fair is where the most important stakeholders meet, and Danish companies covering the entire value chain will present their products and solutions,” said Martin Winkel Lilleøere, Head of Fish Tech at the Danish Export Association.

Strong presence and gentle conveying solutions

Among this year’s exhibitors is Simatek Bulk Systems, which has been active in South America for more than 30 years and is well acquainted with both Aquasur and the regional market.

The company specialises in mechanical conveying systems designed for fragile products, using a patented feeding system that minimises damage during transport. Traditionally serving fish feed manufacturers, Simatek Bulk Systems has recently seen growing interest from fish farmers seeking to handle feed with the same care used during production.

“The fish farmers wish to avoid damaging and crumbling of the feed which can lead to waste and pollution of the water. Many feed producers are now demanding that farmers use more gentle conveying systems,” said Jakob Schou Jensen, Key Account Manager at Simatek Bulk Systems.

In 2023 the company strengthened its regional presence by acquiring Danish firm Graintec, which already operated an office in Chile. The acquisition has further reinforced Simatek’s foothold in the South American market.

At Aquasur 2026, the company aims to reconnect with existing partners while establishing new relationships across Chile and neighbouring markets.

From trade fair meetings to commercial success

Another Danish exhibitor continuing its expansion in Chile is FoulingCure. The company has developed patented technology capable of cleaning plate heat exchangers while systems remain in operation.

Dirty heat exchangers have long posed challenges for the aquaculture industry, often leading to energy losses or requiring chemical cleaning processes that may present risks to fish stocks. FoulingCure’s solution addresses these issues by maintaining efficiency without disrupting operations.

Trade fairs have proven to be a valuable route to market for the company.

“We meet end customers when we attend trade fairs. Here we have the opportunity to demonstrate and explain the value of the product, and we can talk to several stakeholders in the same company,” said Steen Petersen, partner at FoulingCure.

“We participated in Aquasur 2024 where we met a potential customer. Afterwards the customer placed an order, and our system is now installed and up and running at a Chilean fish farm.”

Danish companies on display

Visitors to Aquasur will find the Pavilion of Denmark located in rows C and D of the exhibition hall.

The 26 participating companies represent a wide range of expertise across aquaculture technology, processing, water treatment, feed handling and equipment.
