Fish Focus was honoured to attend the exclusive South Australian Seafood Spectacular in May, hosted by the Government of South Australia, in the beautiful surroundings of Wright Brothers Battersea.

This special evening gathered key figures from London’s seafood industry — including buyers, chefs, restaurateurs, journalists, and influencers — for a unique culinary experience. Guests enjoyed a carefully curated five-course dinner showcasing the very best of South Australian seafood.

A chance to meet and chat to members of the South Australian Government, to hear their views on South Australia and its vibrant seafood industry.

The exquisite menu featured premium offerings from some of South Australia’s leading seafood producers, highlighting the region’s world-class quality and diversity.

Clean Seas Seafood

Stehr Group bluefin tuna sashimi and Clean Seas kingfish sashimi

An extraordinary fish, pristine waters, sustainable farming, the Clean Seas way. Clean Seas Seafood is Australia’s largest commercial producer of Yellowtail Kingfish. Renowned by chefs across the globe for its firm yet supple flesh and rich, sweet flavour, their Spencer Gulf Kingfish is widely considered the best fish in the world for sashimi. However, it’s much more than that. Spencer Gulf Kingfish is recognised as the best white fish for carpaccio, tartare, ceviche and poke dishes. Thanks to the firmness of the flesh, it is also beautiful in a variety of cooking styles, be it
grilling, pan-frying or baking. Formed in 2000, and publicly listed in 2005, Clean Seas has become the largest producer of aquaculture Yellowtail Kingfish outside Japan. They are recognised for their innovation in Kingfish farming and their reliability in supplying fresh fish to markets all over the world, 52 weeks of the year. Based in South Australia, Clean Seas operates from three main locations. Their hatchery is located at Arno Bay, with their sea farm operations off Port Lincoln and their processing facility in Royal Park, Adelaide. Their products include fresh whole Kingfish, a fresh fillet range, a traditional frozen range and a sensory fresh (rapid freezing technology) range.

Stehr Group

Stehr Group is a family-owned company with a heritage of over 50 years based in Port Lincoln on the Eyre Peninsula – an area widely acknowledged as a prime region for aquaculture and pristine water quality. As pioneers in the Southern Bluefin Tuna (SBT) industry, the company has become one of the leading aquaculture companies in Australia. SBT are intensively fed and harvested to supply high quality sashimi and sushi for the world market.
