LATEST VOLUME OF QUAY ISSUES

The latest volume of Quay Issues, the award-winning annual magazine for the UK fishing industry. has been released by Seafish, the public body that supports the £10bn UK seafood industry.

The magazine, which has twice won Silver for Best Publication at the CIPR Pride Scotland Awards, highlights the often untold stories from across the UK fishing industry.

The content is informed by Seafish’s annual fleet survey, during which a team of researchers travel to every port in the UK speaking to as many vessel owners as possible. It covers a range of topics including fishing gear technology, safety at sea and industry recruitment, and is packed full of fantastic examples of people from across the industry who are looking for ways to innovate and thrive in the future.
The latest edition includes features on:

  • Innovative gear designs
  • Tackling the plastic challenge
  • Training opportunities for new entrants
  • Introduction to sustainable fishing
  • Keeping fishermen safe
  • Man overboard ladders
  • ANCPOS
  • The benefits of semi-pelagic doors
  • Introducing TOPAME

Kirsten Milliken, Quay Issues Editor and Economics Project Manager at Seafish said:
“We’re thrilled to share the latest volume of Quay Issues. Once again we’ve worked hard to bring together a selection of features that reflect what’s happening across the industry. We’ve got some excellent stories to share – from an in-depth introduction to sustainable fishing, keeping fishermen safe, and a look at innovations which can reduce fuel consumption.

“We hope that fishermen across the UK will enjoy reading the magazine and perhaps even be inspired to try some of the ideas.”
