XTRATUF MARKS SECOND YEAR OF FUNDRAISING FOR THE FISHERMEN’S MISSION

XTRATUF MARKS SECOND YEAR OF FUNDRAISING

XTRATUF marks second year of fundraising for the Fishermen’s Mission, raising over £3,300 to support UK fishermen.

XTRATUF is proud to share an update on its partnership with The Fishermen’s Mission, celebrating the completion of a second successful year of fundraising as the collaboration prepares to enter its third year.

During the second year of fundraising, XTRATUF has raised £3,359 for The Fishermen’s Mission. These funds are helping to sustain the charity’s essential work supporting fishermen and their families across the UK.

Fishing remains one of the most dangerous professions in the country, and when accidents, illness, financial hardship, or mental health challenges strike, The Fishermen’s Mission provides a vital lifeline. XTRATUF is proud that its fundraising efforts are directly contributing to this support. The funds raised through XTRATUF’s second year of fundraising help support the charity’s vital 24/7 emergency response, providing life-saving support for fishermen in accidents or illness at sea.

This year’s fundraising contribution helps provide:

  • 134 hours of a Port Welfare officer This could be approximately 140 mental
    health referrals
  • 130 Grant applications for financial aid
  • Approx 67 emergency Supermarket food vouchers to combat the oversubscribed food banks
  • 130 visits to combat loneliness
  • A months supply of gas and electricity for 22 families
  • Up to 30 fishermen could receive emergency financial aid and crisis support.

These services ensure fishermen and their families are supported not only in moments of crisis, but also through longer-term challenges affecting wellbeing, finances and mental health.

Dean Lawrence, Corporate Partnerships Manager, The Fishermen’s Mission says:

“This partnership demonstrates the real difference long-term collaboration can make. XTRATUF’s continued commitment directly supports our ability to deliver life-saving and life-changing services to fishermen across the UK.”

Why Fundraising Matters

Fundraising is essential to keeping these services running. Events like marathons play a crucial role in raising the funds needed to support fishermen facing injury, illness, financial hardship, or mental health challenges. Every pound raised helps ensure no fisherman is left to cope alone.

As the partnership enters its third year, XTRATUF is proud to support and promote the challenge events The Fishermen’s Mission will be part of this year, encouraging supporters to run for a cause that directly supports UK fishermen.

There are two exciting charity running opportunities available:

London Marathon 2027

The Fishermen’s Mission will have charity places for the world-famous London Marathon in 2027 – a once-in-a-lifetime challenge with a powerful purpose.

Loch Ness Marathon – September 2026

For the second-year running, the charity has four places available for runners taking on the stunning Loch Ness Marathon this September.

Whether you’re an experienced runner or chasing a new challenge, these events are an incredible way to raise funds and awareness for UK fishermen.
