BRAISED MACKEREL

Braised  mackerel. Simple and quick yet delicious braised mackerel with radish and potatoes – all cooked in one pot!

Ingredients

1 mackerel
1 new potato
200g radishes
1 onion
1 Chili pepper
370ml water
2tbsp soy sauce
2tbsp red pepper paste
2tbsp red pepper, powder
1/2 tbsp soybean paste
1tbsp minced garlic
1/4 tsp ground, black pepper
3tbsp cooking wine
1/2 tbsp sugar

Method

  • Cut the radish into thick half-moon shapes.
  • Mix soy sauce, red pepper paste, red pepper powder, soybean paste, cooking wine, sugar, minced garlic, and pepper to make the seasoning sauce.
  • Wash the mackerel under running water and cut into pieces.
  • Lay the radish on the bottom of the pot and pour water. Once the water boils, put the  mackerel pieces in the pot, then add potatoes, some seasoning sauce made from Step 2, onion, green onion, and red pepper and boil it over high heat.
  • After boiling for a few minutes, reduce the heat and simmer. While simmering, add seasoning sauce periodically so that the seasoning is evenly distributed.

Serve with boiled rice
