GOTAB OMEGA-3 POWDERS ACHIEVE CERTIFICATION
Friend of the Sea, the leading global certification standard for products and services that respect and protect the marine environment, has granted its sustainability certification to Golden Omega’s Norway new line of products, GOtab. The company can now display the Friend of the Sea label on the GOtab Omega-3 compressible powder for tableting.
In addition, GOtab has also obtained the Dolphin-Safe certification created by the Earth Island Institute, a project that has saved millions of dolphins since 1990. After a successful audit, the company demonstrated full compliance with the Dolphin-Safe requirements.
Golden Omega SA, the Chilean producer of Omega-3 concentrates, has been certified for sustainable fishing and production processes since 2013. With the certification of GOtab, a newline of innovative Omega-3 products developed by its subsidiary Golden Omega Norway SA, the company demonstrates its unfaltering engagement to sustainability.
GOtab is a unique solution to offer Omega-3 in tablet formulation. A direct compressible powder scientifically developed for over ten years and produced with sustainably harvested fish oil. Golden Omega SA has complete control and traceability of the fish oil utilised in the production of GOtab, coming from the wealthiest fishing ground in the South Pacific Ocean.
“After becoming part of Golden Omega, it was a natural step to certify our GOtabOmega-3 compressible powders for Friend of the Sea. This will be another great value-adding point for our clients”, commented Tina Vestland, Managing Director of Golden Omega Norway.
“Our company has a permanent commitment to protecting the environment and the sustainability of resources, which we are reaffirming by joining this certification for our GOtab powders. This is a natural consequence of using anchovy from Chilean and Peruvian waters, from Friend of the Sea certified sources”, commented Jorge Brahm, Managing Director of Golden Omega SA.
Golden Omega produces a variety of superior quality Omega-3 concentrates, including combinations of EPA+DHA from 500 mg/g up to 750 mg/g on Ethyl Ester (EE) and Triglycerides (TG) forms.
“It’s wonderful to see companies like Golden Omega which stay committed year after year to implementing sustainable practices,” said Paolo Bray, Founder, and Director of Friend of the Sea. “We’re pleased to certify this new product, resulting from the perfect marriage between scientific development and sustainable production.”
Friend of the Sea is the leading international standard for producers of Fish Oil, fish meal, and Omega-3. The criteria for sustainable nutraceutical products require well-managed sources of fish oil and fishmeal ingredients, traceability, social accountability.
