SCALEAQ AWARDS FRAME AGREEMENT TO NESSCO

SCALEAQ AWARDS FRAME AGREEMENT

ScaleAQ awards frame agreement to Nessco. Aquaculture group ScaleAQ has awarded a frame agreement to Nessco AS, which becomes ScaleAQ’s supplier of blowers and compressors for the group’s aquaculture systems offshore and onshore.

ScaleAQ, which is the result of the recent merger of Steinsvik, Aqualine and AquaOptima, is a world-leading provider of technology and services to the aquaculture industry.

Under the agreement, Nessco will, among other things, supply blowers to ScaleAQ’s feed systems, compressor systems for oxygen supply in fish cages, as well as compressor installations for working air on board feed barges and for handling of dead fish.

“ScaleAQ’s two most important parameters are operational uptime and lifetime of products, as interruption to feeding processes means lost revenues for both service companies and fish farmers. We interpret the fact that ScaleAQ, which is one of the main players in the Norwegian aquaculture industry, chooses our products as a stamp of quality,” says Christian Ness, managing director of Nessco.

The frame agreement also includes cooperation on service and maintenance of equipment at all installations across Norway, which Nessco will support through its nationwide network of service technicians.

In the past, Nessco has been a supplier to Steinsvik’s projects, but this is the first time the collaboration has been formalised through a frame agreement.

ScaleAQ seeks to drive growth in the aquaculture industry by delivering digital technology, engineering, infrastructure and services globally in a reliable, sustainable and innovative manner. The company selects subcontractors that are capable of meeting its stringent quality requirements. The collaboration within service and maintenance has also been an important consideration for ScaleAQ as an even larger service network will add further value to the company’s customers.

“The blowers we supply are an important part of the feeding process, where they ensure conveyance of pellets from the barges to the fish cages. Our systems are capable of transporting up to 72 kg per minute per feed line, with very low energy consumption and low maintenance requirements. As such, we are a good match for ScaleAQ’s business model,” says Magnus Anderssen, Nessco’s technical manager.

Nessco is Norway’s biggest total supplier of compressors, vacuum pumps, blowers and associated services. Within the fish farming industry the company provides vacuum pumps for production of fish feed, compressors, vacuum pumps and blowers to feeding systems, side channel blowers for hatcheries, vacuum and compressor solutions to fish production sites, and compressors for use in algae control.

Nessco is a nationwide Norwegian company with several sales offices as well as a service network that covers the entire Norwegian coastline.
