THAI UNION AND CHICKEN OF THE SEA WORK TOWARDS A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

Thai Union and Chicken of the Sea work towards a more sustainable future. As Earth Day (April 22nd) approaches, Thai Union and Chicken of the Sea are proud to report its mission to create a Sea of Good. Through 2022 and beyond, the company remains committed to tirelessly tackling environmental issues head on by partnering with NGOs and government organisations – pioneering new solutions every step of the way.
Below are a few ways Thai Union and Chicken of the Sea are making a difference:
- In partnership with The Nature Conservancy (TNC), Chicken of the Sea is working toward implementing 100% “on-the-water” monitoring of its tuna supply chain by 2025, while jointly advocating with governments, regulators, and supply chain stakeholders.
- Teaming up with the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch Programme, Chicken of the Sea is working to develop SeaChange IGNITE, a programme developed to drive and infuse sustainability practices in Fishery Improvement Projects (FIPs) and aquaculture farms to increase the availability of sustainable seafood to North American consumers.
- Chicken of the Sea is connecting with local communities, industries, and governments to improve the environmental, social, and economic performance of all its wild-caught and farmed seafood, creating products that meet this triple bottom line for sustainability.
- Lastly, Chicken of the Sea joins the efforts of the Global Dialogue on Seafood Traceability (GDST) to make a push for seafood traceability to become standardized and requisite throughout the industry.
As industry leaders, Thai Union and Chicken of the Sea are passionate about ensuring the long-term health of the oceans and hope to continue charting the path towards a more sustainable future for all.
